About Our School

Anwatin

Anwatin cultivates joyful and meaningful learning experiences

Anwatin, an Ojibwe word meaning 'Calm Weather,' is located in the beautiful Bryn Mawr neighborhood, adjacent to Theodore Wirth Park. Anwatin prides itself on having a diverse range of academic programming and opportunities that serve students from the surrounding area - including parts of Central, Near North, and Southwest Minneapolis.

Anwatin is committed to social justice and anti-racism by practicing inclusivity, curiosity, innovation, and critical thinking.  We nurture growth, compassion, and connection. We foster hope and the inherent power within our students to cultivate genius and see lasting change for our community.
